Noise Rock

TRACK REVIEW: Alpha Maid - Sublime

Alpha Maid's new single, "Sublime," certainly doesn't concern itself with pulling any punches—it's a borderline-unclassifiable blend of noise rock, punk, and dark electronica that hits you in the face like a smelling salt right out of the gate. There's something refreshing about this kind of unapologetic energy. It wastes no time getting straight to the point, and there's no hand-holding build to the climax. We simply start in medias res.

For a nascent group, this is the sort of hubris that gets people's attention and makes a splash. "Sublime"'s cacophonous vocals and rhythmic, pounding wall of sound have left an impression we won't soon to forget, and we can't wait to see what new gleefully explosive constructs emerge from their studio in the coming months.
